Norfolk Arms Hotel, Ringinglow

★★★★

Built in the remote village of Ringinglow in the early 19th century, the Norfolk served as a pub with beer and beds for weary travellers on the Sheffield to Buxton turnpike road.

After refreshing themselves with food, drink and sleep, the travellers would continue - after paying their dues at the neighbouring Roundhouse toll booth.

The modern day Norfolk Arms serves a similar purpose, offering real ale refreshment to the walkers, cyclists and climbers who frequent the area, as well as providing mouth-watering home-cooked food for families enjoying a day in the country.

Our 13 en-suite bedrooms were re-developed in 2007, and are enjoyed by everybody from loved-up newly weds to commuters looking for some peace and tranquillity.

Summer consists of cold drinks and lunch in the sun, overlooking the beautiful Mayfield Valley from our beer garden.

The magic extends into winter, when our log fires light up the dark evenings and our whisky collection can warm up the coldest of nights. Snowy days are among the busiest. Weary sledgers, skiers and snow-boarders, cold and tired from an afternoon on Jacob's Ladder, descend on the bar for steaming hot chocolate and mulled wine.

This hotel is set in the stunning Mayfield Valley amid picturesque countryside on the edge of the Peak District.

The Norfolk Arms is a recently renovated, historic Grade II-listed coaching inn. It offers fantastic views, a restaurant and bar, meeting rooms and conference facilities.

The hotel is an excellent base from which to explore the Peak District National Park or Sheffield city centre.

Please note that the hotel often hosts weddings, function and parties, especially on Friday & Saturday nights, which can be noisy. To avoid issues during your stay please call the property in advance to check if there is an event on during your required stay.
